The Reebok x Sneakersnstuff Kamikaze II "Polkagris" takes its inspiration from the famous candy originally created in Sweden by Amalia Erikkson back in the 1850’s. Being from Sweden, SNS opting to use the red and white Polkagris colors to represent their collaboration with Reebok makes perfect sense. Polkagris is a candy known world wide and so is the Reebok Kamikaze II. While originally released in 1995, the Kamikaze II was Shawn Kemp’s second signature sneaker with Reebok. The bold design often featured contrasting panels that made the zig-zag wave pattern on the side easily recognizable from any distance. Staying true to that design approach, Sneakersnstuff used red on the "wavy" side panels over a white leather upper. Rather than leave it overly simple, the SNS team decided to add a marbleized finish over the entire upper. The SNS logo was then embossed into the heel so there would be no confusion on where this collab came from. Sneakersnstuff and Reebok’s co-branded logo was then stitched into the candy cane-like insole designs. Of course, Reebok’s Hexalite cushioning technology is featured in the design in a matching red finish and multiple laces were added, all featuring the SNS and Reebok logos. The Reebok x Sneakersnstuff Kamikaze II "Polkagris" came with a piece of the Swedish candy and the guys from SNS even learned how to make polkagris in a promotional video for the collab.
