For Air Max Day 2020, Nike introduced the Air Max 2090, showing what the future of Air Max holds. In 2021, the Air Max Pre-Day released for the holiday, reverting back to its past by taking design cues from previous Air Max releases that helped create the groundwork of the Air Max catalog while incorporating innovations that have given the series its longevity.
The Nike Air Max Pre-Day combines original track aesthetics with updated Nike technology. The silhouette holds similarities to the shape of the 1970’s Daybreak, with its arrow-like design, spearing through wind. The lime green upper is constructed out of 20% recycled materials, making it one of the greenest Air Max sneakers ever made. A new fully exposed Air bag heel nods to the Air Max’s heritage of introducing visible Air. This new addition adds a more pronounced bounce to the wearer’s stride.
