The Nike Air Jordan III Retro White/Cement from 2003 was the first of the "White Cement" releases to see the Nike Air on the heel replaced with the "Jumpman Air" but that was seemingly irrelevant to sneakerheads at the time. People wanted Air Jordan 3s, especially in an original colorway. Mainly because the the Jordan 3 to a lot of fans is the most iconic sneaker of all time because of the 1988 Dunk Contest, where MJ took off from the free throw line to cement himself and his Air Jordans into our memory banks. Thanks to the growth of the Internet in the late ‘90s and early 2000s, the release of any Jordan retros became the buzz of message forums like NikeTalk and NikePark, so many sneaker enthusiasts were aware of when new stuff hit stores. Of course, in 2003 there wasn’t much on sneaker release dates, aside from Jordan ‘heads that hopped on NT after their shift at Foot Locker was over. Regardless, the 2003 White Cement Jordan 3 release was one of the first that "sold out" in a relatively quick way. Though, if you did some digging, you could still get them for a few weeks after their initial release date. The Air Jordan 3 Retro "White-Cement Grey/Fire Red" dropped in April of 2003 and Jumpman on the heel or not, is still worth more than the original $100 price tag, no matter what size you wear.
