After an odd release in 2009, the Air Jordan 3 Retro "True Blue" returned just two years later for another re-release. Though the 2009 True Blue 3 release was not in the United States, a retro of the same colorway just two years later seemed like an odd choice at the time. The 2009 and 2011 Jordan 3 Retro True Blues are indeed different style numbers and unless you’re looking very closely, it’s hard to see much of a difference aside from the number of perforations on the tongue. But regardless of the timing and nature of the release, people are always happy to get their hands on Jordan 3s in original colorways and 2011 was no different. The original Tinker Hatfield designed Nike Air Jordan 3 True Blue released back in 1988 when Michael Jordan was flying through the air from the free throw line to win slam dunk contests. Though he never wore the True Blue 3 on court back then, during his final run with the Washington Wizards he wore a PE version. For MJ’s last All Star Game, Kobe Bryant laced up a pair of the True Blue 3s, which further solidified the need to have a fresh pair by the time they came back around in 2011. The Jordan 3 Retro "True Blue" sold out quickly when it released and has since worked its way back to the top of many cop lists once again.
